Vista TaskDialog Wrapper: Unable to find an entry point named 'TaskDialogIndirect' in DLL 'ComCtl32'

Hi Govert,

I'm trying to get http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/21276/Vista-TaskDialog-Wrapper-and-Emulator?msg=4134951#xx4134951xx working in my Excel plugin.

But I keep getting "Unable to find an entry point named 'TaskDialogIndirect' in DLL 'ComCtl32'"

I found http://stackoverflow.com/questions/719251/unable-to-find-an-entry-point-named-taskdialogindirect-in-dll-comctl32 but the suggested step aren't available in the properties menu in a library project?

Do you have any experience how the correct version of ComCtl32.dll can be loaded using a manifest for a Excel-dna plugin?

Best regards
/Niels

Hi Niels,

I'm not sure the add-in can control the side-by-side version of ComCtl32 that is loaded. You might try to add some manifest info in an Excel.exe.config file. I doubt you can control this just from an add-in.

Certainly I have no experience doing this myself.

Write back if you find out anything more, though.

Regards,

Govert
