how to use URL instead of chm file for help

chm file works fine. Now we want to switch to online document.

I tried replacing chm with URL, does not work

[ExcelFunction(Description = "My function desc", Category = "MyAddIn", HelpTopic = "https://www.google.com/"]

public static object MyUDF(string param1)

When I select MyAddIn category, select MyUDF from "insert function" dialog, click "Help on this function", it says "help not found"

so how to use URL instead of chm for Excel function?

thanks

As far as I know Excel only support help system topics, and not URLs for the function wizard help.

thanks.   So there is no workaround like Can I capture click event on "Help on this function" and display URL?

Natively Excel has no such support.

I'm vaguely planning future work on customising the function wizard further, but this would be tricky stuff - so you shouldn't hold your breath.

Ah, I see Excel 2010 did add support for this. However, the way Excel-DNA processed the HelpTopic string prevents this from working in the current version.

So in the next version of Excel-DNA (v. 0.30) the web url help topics will work under Excel 2010.
