FileVersion if using ExcelDNAPack

Jun 28, 2013 at 6:49 AM
Hello Forum,
in my VB.NET I added some information into the AssemblyInfo.vb. There I also set the AssemblyFileVersion and AssemblyVersion to certain values. After all files are merged into the single XLL-File these information are lost. Is there a way to keep them and also store those values in the packed XLL?

Thanks,

Hi Marco,

Do you mean that you want to set the version information of the .xll file?
If so, I suggest you try the verpatch utility, available here: https://ddverpatch.codeplex.com/

Hello Govert,
thanks for your fast reply. I need to get a C++ compiler first so I can compile the ddverpatch tool. I hope it works.

Thanks for your tip,

Hi Marco,

If you press the download button on the https://ddverpatch.codeplex.com/ front page, you'll get the compiled binaries.

Thanks again for this help. I did not see before that I can download the binaries. Will try it next week when I'm back to office.
