Debugging in Excel DNA - Best Practices?

For some of the experienced members here, how do you debug for the Excel Add-In?

For instance, sometimes it's a little hard when we've created a lot of variables in a function to know exactly what's going on ... except via writing to a console log file upon Excel close.

Is there a recommended way to debug? IE. Do you guys use a popup that throws out the variables name?

Thanks!

Hi,

Are you using Visual Studio to make your add-in?
If you've used the Excel-DNA NuGet package, then debugging from the IDE should work fine.

Hi Govert, I am using VS to make the add-in.

I haven't used the Excel-DNA NuGet package, but I will take a look into that if it makes it easier.

Thanks!
